HOW TO APPLY TO BACHELOR’S

The following information is aimed at non-EU citizens residing abroad holding foreign academic qualifications.

In case of dual citizenship,  one being EU, the student will be considered as an EU student.

WHO CAN APPLY

In order to be eligible to apply for a Bachelor’s program, you must hold a secondary school qualification awarded after a minimum of 12 years of schooling (overall). Moreover, you must have achieved your qualification after at least 2 years of attendance at the same program. In addition to that, if required by the Education System of the High School diploma, the academic eligibility exam is mandatory to be eligible for enrollment also in Italy.

All regulations concerning the admission of students holding a foreign degree to Italian Universities are reported in detail in a document issued yearly by the Ministry of University and Research.

Make sure that your qualifications match what we are looking for: see the appropriate terms and conditions for offers made in the academic year 2023/2024 here. A selective admission test may be required for some Bachelor degree programs.

In order to apply for a study programme, students must hold an academic title that fulfills the following conditions:

  • be officially recognized as valid for continuation of education;
  • be awarded by an institution that is officially recognized by the Country where the study program is offered according to local Education laws.

Academic recognition of  foreign titles suitability with the purpose of enrolling in one of the programmes offered by the University of Pavia is carried out by the Admission Office. The recognition process is based on the rules for recognition of academic titles established by the Lisbon Recognition Convention as well as on related laws and manuals.

 

HOW TO APPLY

1) Go to apply.unipv.eu and click on ‘Sign in’/‘Register’.

If you have never registered before, click on ‘I am a new applicant’ and insert your email address (please insert an email address you regularly check and do not sign up more than once using different email addresses).

A single PIN CODE will appear on the screen. Please go to your email inbox, find the email and click the link in order to continue the registration process, type the PIN code and set the password.

2) Select the degree program/programs by using the search tool above

3) Fill in with your datas. Click on ‘Save’ to save your application, even if incomplete. You may save your application at any point to return to it later.

4) Complete the tasks by uploading the required documents.

5) Pay the application fee and wait 24hs to have the payment status updated.

6) To Complete your application, click ‘SUBMIT’. Once your application is submitted, attached documents cannot be deleted or replaced. If necessary, new documents can be added after the submission (ie. Final degree diploma, language certificate). Please always remember to click on submit after any change or additional document added.

APPLICATION FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 23-24

Restricted-access programs application will open from 2023 with calls and dates depending on each course.

 

PRE-ENROLLMENT AND VISA REQUEST AT THE ITALIAN EMBASSY/CONSULATE

1. Identify the competent Italian authority in your country:

EU citizens do not need a visa to enter Italy.

Non-EU student residing outside of Italy need to start the online pre-enrollment application in order to request the visa.

2. Submit the pre-enrollment application in due time:

As established by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), the pre-enrollment request will be submitted online through the platform Universitaly. Consult the guidelines here .

Bear in mind to upload:

  • high school diploma or bachelor degree
  • translation of your documentation in English or Italian
  • passport
  • admission / conditional offer letter

Deadline to submit your pre-enrollment application is 31 August.

If we have not received your pre-enrollment application through the portal, we will not confirm your enrollment at the University.

3. Complete the visa application at the competent Italian authority:

The pre-enrollment for visa application must be completed at the competent diplomatic-consular mission. Check the Embassy/Consulate contacts here.

4. What to do with your visa:

With the visa you are allowed to travel back and forth to Italy.
Remember to upload it in your Student Portal to confirm your enrollment at the University of Pavia.

FIND OUT THE STEPS TO FOLLOW AFTER THE ADMISSION!

The following information is aimed at :
– EU citizens (including Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) holding foreign academic qualifications;
– non-EU citizens regularly residing in Italy holding foreign academic qualifications;
– Italian citizens holding foreign academic qualifications;
– students holding foreign academic qualifications who have dual citizenship,  one being European.
