Non-EU prospective students residing abroad who have applied to an Italian-taught program must sit the Italian language test.
The test is provided by CISIA in collaboration with the University of Pavia and it will be held on July 7th, 2022 and September 15th, 2022 . Registration must be done within June 26th via a google form that candidates will receive from the Admission office. For the academic year 2022/23, registration is free of charge.
Information on the test is available here. The passing score is ≥ 54/72, comparable to a B2 Italian language proficiency level. Students who fail the test can not enroll.
Please be aware that is is an assessment test thus it does not imply the issuing of an Italian language proficiency certificate.
The following categories of students are exempted from the Italian language test:
Candidates enrolling in a bachelor degree programme are requested to sit for a :
– Selective entrance test – List of bachelor courses with a selective entrance test.
or
–Background assessment test – List of bachelor courses with a background assessment test. Non-selective assessment test which can consist of a TOLC provided by CISIA, related to the course field, or a test organized by the Department. In the event of test failure, it will still be possible to enroll with educational debts (O.F.A.), a gap that can be filled in with additional courses or exams.
Check whether you must sit for an entrance test or a background assessment test!
Prospective students from a country where the equivalent degree course does not require a compulsory admission test are exempted from the background assessment test.

Admitted students can finally proceed to the on-line enrollment by registering in the Student Portal (Area Riservata). While enrolling please enter the expiration date of your study visa in the field “permit of stay”. Always remember to check the deadline of online enrollment which can be found in the call for applications of the course.
Before getting started, prepare the following documents:
Then enter the Student Portal (Area Riservata) with your fiscal code and the password assigned by the system, click on the Enrollment section and start your on-line enrollment. Follow the indications to fill in the enrollment request with your personal information and upload the above-mentioned documents as required by the system.
Once your on-line enrollment has been completed correctly, the system will generate a receipt of enrollment. After that, you will be able to proceed with the payment of the first installment (156 euros) through the PagoPA system, both online and offline. Check here for payment instructions.
In order to finalize their enrollment, students must send scans of the following documents to Admission Office (admission@unipv.it):

Please note: For A.Y. 2023/2024, Italian translation will also not be required for degrees released in Spanish and French***.

Apostille is only available for the signatory countries to the Hague Convention.
Legalization of documents is not required for Belgium, Denmark, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, France, Ireland (European Convention of Brussels 1987) and Germany (Italo-German Convention 1969).
After enrollment, submit a copy of your visa and permit of stay (or a proof of appointment) to the Admission Office (admission@unipv.it).

In case the Italian embassy/consulate or CIMEA delays issuing the relevant documents, students will be asked to fill in and sign a self-certification in order to finalize the enrollment.
*If the baccalaureate degree was obtained at the conclusion of a period of schooling of less than 12 years, in order to make up the missing schooling it will be necessary to submit, alternatively:
– Academic certification that all examinations required for the first year or the first two years of university studies have been passed, if the schooling system of the country of origin is eleven years or ten years, respectively;
– An official Italian or foreign post-secondary degree from a non-university institution of higher education and of a subject related to the chosen course, lasting one year or two years if the school system of the country of origin is eleven years or ten years, respectively;
– Certifications relating to the successful completion of propaedeutic courses (Foundation Course), filling the missing years of schooling.
These certifications are subject to the same formalities required for the degree.
**Document legalization is not required for Belgium, Denmark, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, France, Ireland (Brussels European Convention 1987) and Germany (Italian-German Convention 1969).

Students who fail to be admitted, due to the position in the ranking of the course they pre-enrolled in, can request a reassignment. The reassignment can be made:
1. to another course of the University of Pavia (provided that the student is eligible for that course in his/her original country as specified on the DOV);
2. to the same course or in another course offered by other universities; in this case, the student needs to contact the other university for details.
Students failing to access another university’s course can ask for the reassignment to an available course at University of Pavia. Please send the request along with the DOV to Admission Office in order to get a pre-evaluation. Based on the pre-evaluation, they will let you know if you are eligible, if they need additional documents and which procedure you should follow in order to be reassigned to University of Pavia.
