ENTRY CONDITIONS FOR ITALY

Entry conditions from abroad are established by the Italian Government, please check through this survey what should you do in order to be able to enter Italy.
Remember to fill in the Digital Passenger Locator Form before your arrival.

 

COVID-19 GREEN CERTIFICATE

COVID-19 green certificate (EU digital COVID certificate) certifies vaccination against the virus or recovery or a negative molecular or antigen swab test. This last option will generate a certificate valid for 48h only. Check here the list of pharmacies in Pavia where rapid antigen test is available.

 

NON-EU VACCINATION CERTIFICATE

Please consider that the recognized vaccinations in Italy are:

  • Pfizer-BioNtech
  • Moderna
  • Astrazeneca
  • Johnson & Johnson
  • Novavax

The vaccination certificate must report at least the following contents:

  • identification data of the owner (name, surname, date of birth);
  • data related to the vaccine (name and lot);
  • date(s) of administration of the vaccine;
  • identification data of the person who issued the certificate (State, Health Authority).

Only certificates in English or with sworn translation are considered.

In order to obtain your COVID-19 green certificate, you should:

  1. Fill in this form (only for people currently living or planning to live in Pavia) and wait for your AUTHCODE.
  2. Request your COVID certificate with your datas and AUTHCODE.

COVID-19 certificates issued by the following countries are considered equivalent to the EU digital COVID certificate therefore they do not require any recognition: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Cabo Verde, El Salvador, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Israel, Iceland, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Panama, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Togo, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the Crown Dependencies (Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man), Uruguay, The Vatican.

In addition, Italy recognizes also certificates issued in: Japan, Canada, USA.

 

Have you been vaccinated in a non-EU country with a non-recognized vaccine?

If you have already completed your vaccination course, the booster dose (third dose) can only be administered after 28 days and up to 6 months.

Through the second or additional shot with a recognized vaccine, you can be able to receive the COVID-19 green certificate.

You can book your shot by following the procedure below.

 

BOOK YOUR VACCINATION

International students are welcome to take part in the Lombardy vaccination programme free of charge. Please book your vaccination here.

Students already holding Tessera Sanitaria (National health system card) can book their vaccination here.

The same process can be followed even by:

  • people who got their first shot abroad and want to book the second/third shot.
  • people who want to book their third (booster) shot, after at least 4 months from the second shot of a recognized vaccination / 28 days from the second shot of a non-recognized vaccine.

 

CLASSES ATTENDANCE

In order to attend lessons, students must submit their attendance preference (see tutorial) then confirm their participation through CINECA attendance survey app. Face mask is recommended.

The University of Pavia encourages students to attend lectures in person, in compliance with prevention measures, therefore classes in the academic year 2022/2023 will be offered in presence.

To guarantee students a high quality teaching, as well as, the opportunity to easily access studying material, all classes will be recorded and uploaded on the student’s portal. The recordings will be available for 15 days after the lesson has taken place.

POSITIVE COVID SUBJECT CONFIRMED WITH TAMPON:

The duration of isolation is 5 days from the execution of the diagnostic tampon; the worker may re-enter after the negative result from the end of isolation swab performed from the 5th day with at least the last 2 days before the swab without symptoms. (Ageusia/dysgeusia and anosmia are not considered in the evaluation of symptoms). One can only come out of isolation after a negative test. In the case of persistent positivity, isolation may end 14 days after the first positive tampon regardless of whether the test was taken.
However, a negative tampon is required to return to work; this condition is to be considered as illness.

UNIVERSITY’S RESIDENCES SAFETY MEASURES

In order to protect students from the risk of Covid-19 infection, the University’s Residences have implemented a series of measures:

  • In case of quarantine, students will be accommodated in dedicated rooms and will be provided with assistance in handling domestic needs.
  • The accommodations are sanitized at the check-out of each student.
  • Students will be given a handbook with safety rules to follow, with particular regard to the common areas.
  • Specific signs and hand sanitizers will be available in several areas of the buildings.

 

ACCESS TO LIBRARIES AND STUDY ROOMS

To enter libraries, both for consultation and for study, it is necessary to reserve a seat via the app “Affluences”.

For what concerns the study room service, students will be required to sign the register of attendance in the study room.

SINGLE EMERGENCY NUMBER

112 is the Emergency Number you can dial free of charge from fixed and mobile phones everywhere in the EU. It will get you straight through to the emergency services – Police, Ambulance, Fire brigade.

APP FOR EMERGENCIES

112 Where Are U” is the app developed for calling/chatting with 112 operators.

It automatically sends your location and all the information you want to include.

EMERGENCY ROOM

In case of extreme necessity, you can go 24/7 to the Emergency Room (“Pronto Soccorso”) of Policlinico San Matteo Hospital. Take with you your personal documents and the proof of your Health Insurance (Health Card or receipt of the payment).

OUT-OF-HOUR MEDICAL SERVICE

The “Guardia Medica” is a medical service accessible during the hours when your general practitioner is not on duty.

In case of need, call the number 116117:

  • Weekdays: from 20.00 to 8.00
  • Holidays and days before holidays: H24

POLICE STATION

You can go to the Police Station (Questura) either for reporting any crime (24/7) or for applying for your Permit of Stay (by appointment).
