VISITING STUDENTS

Visiting students are those students who decide to enroll in single courses, attend and take the related exams. Some of them come from Universities which do not have an international agreement with the University of Pavia for exchange students.

Enrolling in single courses (corsi singoli) allows students to attend teaching courses held at the University of Pavia for one academic year and to take the exams.

Who can enroll:

  • EU or non-EU citizens resident in Italy with a high school diploma (for bachelor’s degree courses);
  • EU or non-EU citizens residing in Italy with a three-year bachelor degree (for bachelor’s and master’s degree courses);
  • non-EU citizens not resident in Italy – a pre-enrollment application will be required in order to obtain the visa, to be carried out through the Universitaly portal;
    Erasmus students (please contact the Erasmus Office).

Steps for enrolling:

1)REGISTER: access the student area at at this website.  At the end of the registration process you will obtain a USERNAME and a PASSWORD

 

2)CONTACT the Registrar’s Office via Unipvinforma providing these information:name of the single course(s) you intend to attend; credits (CFU); scientific disciplinary sector (SSD); teaching code; Professor’s and department’s name and the name of the department. Futhermore, you have to upload the following documents: passport-size photo; copy (front and back) of ID used during registration and visa/residence permit (for non-EU citizens); copy of Italian tax code (in the case of international students who do not have the card at the time of enrolment, it may be submitted at a later date); self-certification of study qualification(s) held.

Students with a qualification obtained outside of Italy must submit the original paper version or send scans of the following documents to Registrar’s Office in order to complete their enrolment:

Documents for enrollment in first level courses (bachelor):

  • Original diploma (or certified copy or replacement certificate) of secondary education with at least 12 years of schooling, translated into Italian and legalized by the Italian diplomatic authority located in the country where the qualification was obtained, or with an Apostille. In the case of qualifications issued in English, a translation is not required;
  • Declaration of value issued by the competent Italian diplomatic authority or statement of comparability issued by CIMEA;
  • Certificate of completion of university entry test (only if your home country requires a university entrance test);

 

Documents for enrollment in second level courses (master)

  • Original Bachelor diploma (or certified copy or replacement certificate) allowing enrolment in the second cycle, translated into Italian and legalized by the Italian legalized by the Italian diplomatic authority located in the country where the qualification was obtained, or with an Apostille. In the case of qualifications issued in English, a translation is not required;
  • Declaration of value issued by the competent Italian diplomatic authority OR statement of comparability issued by CIMEA OR Diploma Supplement issued by your home university;
  • Photocopy of the residence permit/card (if applicable).

On the basis of the credits requested, the Registrar’s Office will assign a fee based on the number of credits and will charge an invoice (downloadable from the student area under the payments section) as follows:

  • 100 EUR registration fee
  • 16 EUR revenue stamp
  • 45 EUR for each credit (CFU) (eg. if the course is 6 CFU, then it will be 45EUR*6CFU = 270 EUR)

 

3) NOTIFY the Registrar’s Office via Unipvinforma that the invoice has been paid. Afterwards, the office will enroll you to the chosen course(s);

After the enrollment is completed, you will receive a “Welcome” message to the email address used during registration with information regarding the University of Pavia email address. Further communications, such as new access credentials to the University’s online services (student area, WiFi, KIRO, etc.) will be sent to the latter email address.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

It is not possible to enroll in teaching courses offered by study courses with a national entry test (i.e. Medicine and Surgery, etc.).
The maximum number of credits that can be acquired in an academic year is 30 CFUs.
It is advisable to ascertain the conditions for admission before enrolling as some courses may require pre-requisites.
Simultaneous enrollment in single courses and study courses granting an academic title is not allowed.
