Pavia Campus

Polo Centrale
The University of Pavia has its main campus in the city of Pavia. Here, in the historical city center, there is the ancient University Palace (Palazzo Centrale), dating back to the 15th century, with nine traditional courtyards and forty historical theatre classrooms. The Departments of Humanities, Law, Political and Social sciences, Economy are located in this area, between the central building in Corso Strada Nuova, San Tommaso Palace in Piazza del Lino and Piazza Botta buildings.

Polo Cravino
The technological and scientific pole located in the north-western part of the city (well connected with buses) is called Polo Cravino, also known as La Nave (the Ship) due to its shape. This building was created by the University in the early 70s and it expresses the modern side of UNIPV. It hosts the scientific departments, including Medicine and STEMs.

Voghera
The degree programs in Sport sciences are hosted by the city of Voghera, a small city 30 km from Pavia.

Vigevano
Some nursing specialization programs are hosted by Vigevano, 40 km from Pavia.

Cremona

Cremona, the city of Stradivarius, 85 km from Pavia, hosts the Department of Musicology and Cultural Heritage.

Beginning in the 16th century, Cremona became renowned as a centre of musical instrument manufacture, with the violins of the Amati and Rugeri families, and later the products of the Guarneri and Stradivari workshops. Cremona is still renowned for producing high-quality instruments. In 2012 the “Traditional violin craftsmanship in Cremona” was declared an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.

Nowadays there are important ensembles for Renaissance and Baroque music, i.e. Choir & Consort Costanzo Porta, and festivals which maintain Cremona as one of the most important towns in Italy for music.
