ITALIAN LANGUAGE TEST

Non-EU prospective students residing abroad who have applied for an Italian-taught program must sit the online Italian language test provided by CISIA.

The passing score is ≥ 54/72, comparable to a B2 Italian language proficiency level, but please be aware that it is an assessment test thus it does not imply the issuing of an Italian language proficiency certificate.

The test costs 35 euros and it will be held on 11th July 2024 (with registration in June) and 20th September 2024 (with registration in September). More information will be given from the Admission Office before the registration period.

Students who fail the test can not enroll.

Detailed information on the test is available here.

The following categories of students are exempted from the Italian language test:

  1. Students who have applied for a Degree program taught in English;
  2. Students who have a B2 Italian language proficiency certificate -or upper level- issued by CILS, CELI, ROMA3 or PLIDA, awarded as determined by the CLIQ (Italian Quality Language Certification) quality system, by Università per stranieri “Dante Alighieri” di Reggio Calabria or by affiliated “Istituti Italiani di Cultura” abroad;
  3. Students with an Italian Secondary School diploma obtained abroad;
  4. Students with a Secondary School diploma listed in “Allegato 2” here;
  5. Students with a diploma in Italian language and culture obtained at the Università per Stranieri di Siena or Perugia;
  6. Students with certificates about the Lower Secondary School final qualification obtained in Argentina, which certify the attendance of a study course which includes the teaching of the Italian language for at least 5 years.
