Incoming transfer students

ATTENTION: For courses with non-restricted access, the procedure will be active from March 1st  to 8th June, 2023 and from September 4th to September 9th, 2023.

Who can apply?

Students with a previous career/qualification from another University, willing to:

a) continue their studies @UNIPV;

b) abbreviate their new academic career @UNIPV.

For courses with limited access, it is advisable to follow the procedures to apply as freshman here as well in order to increase the acceptance rate.
In case of admission,  it is possible anyway to request the validation of the previous career.

When to apply?

Non-restricted access Bachelor’s degree programs:

·         Transfer from Italian university: from 1st June to 31st October 2023

·         Transfer from foreign university: from 1st March to 8th June 2023

Non-restricted access Master’s degree programs:

·         Transfer from Italian university: from 16th May 2023 to 9th February 2024

·         Transfer from foreign university: from 1st March to 8th June 2023

How to apply for a transfer from an Italian university – Bachelor’s or Single-cycle Master’s degrees

1.      Register/Log in the student portal;

2.     Click on Admissions> EVALUATION TEST;

3.      Select the competition PREVIOUS UNIVERSITY CAREER EVALUATION (PREVALUATION) FOR THE DEGREE COURSE IN … and continue the guided procedure by attaching:

·         copy of the front and back of the identity card and tax code;

·         career evaluation request form (available soon): fully filled in with datas. Only the exams included in the self-certification will be taken into consideration;

·         program of each exam included in the self-certification;

·         any other relatevant document.

4.      Pay the €35 fee, as “Reimbursement of expenses – Evaluation of previous university career (pre-assessment) for the degree course in …”, which can be downloaded at the end of the procedure or in the PAYMENTS section of the student portal.

How to apply for a transfer from a foreign university – Bachelor’s or Single-cycle Master’s degrees

1.     Register on the student portal;

2.     Click on Admissions> EVALUATION TEST;

3.     Select the competition ”Concorso di valutazione per prevalutazioni carriere estere e trasferimento da atenei esteri”

4.     Continue the guided procedure and choose the course to which you would like to transfer;

5.     Upload the required documents on the page ”Gestione titoli e documenti per la valutazione”:

A. Original final diploma * which consents the enrollment in the program you choose, translated into Italian and:

1) Legalized by the Italian embassy/consulate in your country (the legalization of documents is not required for Belgium, Denmark, United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Germany);
2)OR apostilled (the apostille is only available for the signatory countries to the Hague Convention);
3)OR accompanied by CIMEA Statement of Verification (apply for it here).

In the case of a qualification issued in English, Spanish or French, the Italian translation is not required.

B. DOV (Declaration of Value) issued by the Italian embassy/consulate, OR CIMEA Statement of Comparability OR Statement of Correspondence which can be downloaded from the Automatic Recognition Database (ARDI) – if your title has been obtained in one of the Countries that are signatories to the Lisbon Recognition Convention.

C. Transcript of records of previous student career;

D. Program of each exam taken with relative translation in Italian or English;

E.  Any other attachments useful for evaluating previous career;

F. In case of lack of a valid residence permit in Italy, an Italian language certification of B2 level from the Council of Europe or higher (CILS, CELI, Roma3 or PLIDA) issued under the CLIQ quality system (Italian Language Certification quality) is required. Attention: the Italian language certification is not required if student applies for a transfer to an English-taught program, but student may be required to possess a certain level of English proficiency.

5.     Confirm and submit the application;

6.     Pay the application fee of 51 euros;

*If the high school diploma was awarded at the end of a period of schooling of less than 12 years, in order to make up the missing year, you need to provide alternatively:
– The academic certification certifying the passing of all the exams required for the first year or for the first two years of university studies, if the school system of the country of origin is eleven or ten years respectively;
– An official Italian or foreign post-secondary qualification obtained in a non-university higher institute and in a subject similar to the chosen course, lasting one year or two years if the school system of the country of origin is eleven years or ten years old;
– Certifications relating to the passing of preparatory courses (Foundation Course), which make up the missing years of schooling.
These certifications are subject to the same formalities required for the qualification.

What happens after the transfer application?

The Evaluation Commission identifies the validated exams and the year of admission. The student will then receive the result via e-mail with instructions and deadlines to complete the enrollment.
